No time to smell the roses
Last couple of weeks we were busy on the allotment. Planting out peas, broccoli, kale, spinach and on the cut flower patch: sweet peas, calendula, scabious, cleome, cephalaphora 'Pineapples'π and ornamental grasses.πΎπΌ
One task always lead to another, peas need a support installed, broccoli - cage fixed, so pigeons won't eat them before us.π¦
I feel that since getting an allotment in December last year, we were in a constant race to complete never-ending tasks on the plot, many weekends working 8 hours straight. It was rewarding, but also very tiring!π There was no time to stop and smell the flowers!πΈπ
From now, I will try to find a moment for myself to slow down and relax and watch the beesπ and smell the rosesπΉ (I spotted the first flower bud on my rose today!)
